The theme for this months challenge at Lothian crafts is a card for someone special and there is a great prize to be won.
For my DT card I decided to get inky and have a break from all those Christmas cards. I created the background using distress inks (Worn lipstick, faded denium and dusky concord) on watercolour card, blending them with cut and dry foam. I then stamped a tulip image from a Joanna Sheen stamp plate onto water coulured card and coloured with Distress inks - Barn door, marigold and Pine Needles. I then tore around the image and painted it with Rock Candy crackle paint.

Christmas card - sketch and doodles
I made this card following the sketch for the current challenge at Crafts 4 eternity and you also have to add some doodling so I edged the papers with faux affect stitching using a black pen. The papers are from the Crafter's Companion Adorables cd and the image and boarders are from my Christmas stash.
I'm also entering this card into the challenge at Pollycraft , where the theme is doodling.
Quick and Easy Christmas card
This is the theme for the current challenge at Polka doodle .
This card uses the tree stamp for the Crafter's Companion Adorables stamp plate - Playing. I stamped the image twice using distress ink - Pine Needles and blended the colour out a little with a damp brush. I then added some glitter to the trees and layered the image onto some green card and then onto silver mirror board. A sentiment strip was also mounted onto silver mirri and added to the bottom of this A6 card.

A different Christmas card
Been having a play with the new embossing powders from Sheena Douglass. I've used a stag and branch stamp from a Creative Expressions stamp plate.
The stag has been stamped with versamark onto black cardstock and embossed using the holographic powder, this gives a purple effect on black card. I then stamped the branch several times with Versamark and embossed with the fine white powder. The image has then been mattered onto white card and then blue mirror board. To finish the card I added a blue mirror board strip, punched snowflakes and greeting emboseed agani using the fine white powder.
Challenges entered:

The current challenge at both I love promarkers and Crafty calendar challenge is 'Snowflakes' and I made this card with that theme in mind. This card uses snowflake backing paper from Crafters Companion Adorables CD and the main image uses a snowman stamp from Joanna Sheen. The image was stamped onto Neenah card and coloured with ProMarkers, then mattered onto green and purple cardstock. Striped green paper was cut into triangles for the corners and I used a snowflake punch to create the snowflakes in the corners.
I'm also entering this card into the challenge at Pollycraft , which the theme is 'It's chill time'.

Lothian Crafts Monthly Challenge
As it's the first of the month there's a new monthly challenge over at Lothian Crafts - this is my DT card. There's a sketch to follow for the theme and great candy to be won.
For my card I used one of Joanna Sheen's frame stamps, which I've embossed with Sheena Douglass 'wow' embossing powders in black. The flower is also a JS stamp coloured with ProMarkers. I've used a DCWV paper for the background and the flowers have been cut out of some pattern paper I had in my stash and Stickles added t the centre.

Easel Card
This easel card uses a frame stamp from Joanna Sheen (that i've had for ages, but for some reason never used!) for the main image. The frame has been embossed using Sheena Douglass 'Wow' embossing powders in black. The flower is also a Joanna Sheen stamp from one of the Jane Netley Meyhew stamp ranges, which I stamped with black soot Distress ink and coloured with ProMarkers. I've found that Black Soot Distess ink works really well with ProMarkers and the image can be coloured staright away with no bleeding of the distress ink.
The inside edge of the frame has also been colured with ProMarkers, but I inked the outer edge and the edge of the sentiment with Big N Juicy waterfall ink.
The backing paper is from MSC Tattered lace CD, which I added glitter to the detail at the bottom. The butterflies were stamped onto the same BP and embossed with white embossing powder.
Challenges covered:
Ellephantastic challenges - Blue
Oldie but a goodie challenge - add a butterfly
Just inspirational challenges - a shaped card

I used Tan and Blush for the darker bear and Satin and Ivory for the other bear, also Cinnamon for the darker patches on feet and ears. I added some foiled swirly paper to the base card and also stamped 2 flourishes in Versamark and dusted with Cosmic Shimmer Mica.

Lothian Crafts Monthly Challenge
This is my DT card for Lothian crafts monthly challenge. The challenge for October is 'Christmas', so it can be anything you like as long as it is christmas themed and with great candy to be won it's a great reason to get another christmas card made.
I decided to make an easel card shape and use the Skating Santa and Teddy from Joanna Sheen's Giordano Christmas stamp range.
I decided to have a go at braying for the main image: I roughly tore a peice of paper in half at a curve and masked off the top half of my piece of glossy card. I used the blue half of the Waterfall Big N Juicy ink pad to create the lake, which was alos sprayed with Spray and Sparkle. This was then masked off using the other half of the paper i tore and I used the greener end of the Big N Juicy to create the look of grass and then sky. As I used glossy card I stamped the trees in Stazon ink and also the Santa and Teddy. I then stamped the Santa and Teddy again onto some white card and coloured them in with ProMarkers, these were then cut out and layed over the stamped image. This means that you still have the effect of the full stamped image without having to figure out how to cut out some of the fiddly lines.
The image was matted and layered onto co-ordinating paper and mirror board and then onto some white card that I'd inked with the same Big N Juicy ink pad. The border and base paper are from the Crafters Companion CD Adorables. I added a greeting and an extra stamped teddy image, which has been layed onto a mirror board scolloped circle.
Why don't you pop over to Lothian crafts and have a go at this months challenge.

Shopping Fever
The current challenge at Crafty Sentiments is to use your scraps, which is perfect as I'm sure I'm not the only one with an overflowing drawer filled with bits of paper that just can't be thrown away! So all the papers I've used are from my bits and bobs / scrap draw. The main image is from the 'flippin women' range of stamps, which I've coloured with ProMarkers and inked around the edge with Big N Juicy - hydrangea. I've also added a little handbag charm that i've blinged up with some gems.
Challenges covered:
Crafty Sentiments - use your scraps
Oldie but a goodie - Pink and Girly

Another christmas card
For this card I have used the skating teddy again (i did say that i liked this stamp!).
He's been stamped and coloured in with brushmarker pens and then I used the holly stamp, that is also on this stamp plate, to decorate the edge. I've mounted him onto a scalloped circle that I'd punched holes in and threaded ribbon though (inspired by the spellbinders show on create and craft). The backing papers are just from my Christmas paper stash.

Another christmas card
I'm on a bit of a role now...This card uses an image from the Creative Expressions stamp plate - Winter Wonderland 2. I stamped the main image, masked it and then stamped the trees to create a little scene. The backing paper was created with a snowflake brayer and Big n Juicy Waterfall ink pad. The edges were then inked with the same ink pad.
I'm entering this card into the challenge at Winter Wonderland, the theme in Monochromatic Christmas card.

Trio of skating teddies
I just love this cute image of this skating teddy. It comes from the same Joanna Sheen's Giordano stamp plate as the Santa - see previous post - I can see me using these stamps a lot!
I stamped the central teddy then masked the image and re-stamped twice to create the trio. The image has been coloured in the brushmarkers and I've gone around the edge of the image with Distress Ink - Mustard seed. I've also used this ink pad to create the yellow card that the backing paper has been matted onto.
I'm entering this card it the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments - use the colours Blue, Grey and Yellow
Cd Sunday Challenge - CD and stamping - the backing paper is from The Cute Companions Christmas Collection CD-Rom.

The theme for this weeks challenge at I love promarkers is "transport'. It has taken me quite a while to think of something that fits this challenge, but then I remembered this stamp I had from Creative Expressions (part of the Christmas create a scene stamp plate). The image has been stamped, coloured in with ProMarkers and then I've distressed around the edge with Distress ink - Vintage Photo. The background papers are from a kit that I got from Create and Craft last year.

Another card for today
This card is made using a popcorn Bear floral stamp that I've coloured with watercolour pencils. The spotty backing paper is from a My Minds Eye paper pad. I'm entering this card into the Just Cute Bears weekly challenge, the current theme is 'lets go dotty'. Although I'm rather late at entering this week as a new challenge starts tomorrow!
Tiger
The challenges over at cd sunday challenge and Pear tree designs this week are both based on the theme 'animals'. For my card I've used a tiger image from Joanna Sheen CD - Jayne Netley Meyhew part 2. The background paper was created by brayering a piece of glossy card with a Big and Juicy ink pad (Vibrant Primary) and then I spirtized it with Cosmic Shimmer copper mist. I then stamped over it using an animal print background stamp. The cosmic shimmer can still be seen through the ink, so I think it gives a really great effect.
