Christmas in Autumn

The challenge this week at Winter Wonderland is to use the colours of Autumn in a christmas card. I'm also entering this card into Christmas cards all year round, where the theme is to use at least one of the Halloween colours (orange, green, purple, black).

I've used backing papers and topper from MCS - Winter Wishes CD. I've also stamped and embossed a bauble from Kanban and coloured in the Spectrum Noirs direct onto the printed topper. Extra small snowflakes have been stamped and embossed on to the topper too.  The frame was cut out on my Craft Robo and inked with Big and Juicy Foliage, the borders were made using a Martha Stewart punch.

Natures Wonder

I'm a bit late entering Cd sunday challenge this week. The theme is Natures Wonder. I've used an image and backing paper from MCS CD - Winter Wonderland and gold paper from my stash. I've added glitter to the image and backing paper but it hasn't shown up very well in the picture.

Christmas Tree

First Christmas card of 2011!! This card was inspired by a new challenge blog that I have just recently come across called Sparkles forum christmas challenge who's challenge is 'Christmas Tree'.
I've used a Christmas tree embossing folder through my Big Shot, using Core'dinations whitewash card stock. I then sanded the embossed tree to reveal the coloured core. Simply matted and layered onto green cardstock and gold mirror silk board. The backing paper is from a My Minds Eye Christmas paper pad I have and I've edged it with Gold Calligraphy pen and embossed the greeting with gold embossing powder.

Christmas - Think Pink

This card is inspired by the current challenges over at Sunday sketch and stamp, which has a sketch to follow this fortnight, (couldn't believe it but I actually won the previous fortnights challenge) and Creative Inspirations, which is 'Pink Christmas'.

The stamp is from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit colection, which I have coloured using ProMarkers and the backing paper is from the CC adorables CD

Christmas card - sketch and doodles

I made this card following the sketch for the current challenge at Crafts 4 eternity and you also have to add some doodling so I edged the papers with faux affect stitching using a black pen. The papers are from the Crafter's Companion Adorables cd and the image and boarders are from my Christmas stash.

I'm also entering this card into the challenge at Pollycraft , where the theme is doodling.

Quick and Easy Christmas card

This is the theme for the current challenge at Polka doodle .
This card uses the tree stamp for the Crafter's Companion Adorables stamp plate - Playing. I stamped the image twice using distress ink - Pine Needles and blended the colour out a little with a damp brush. I then added some glitter to the trees and layered the image onto some green card and then onto silver mirror board. A sentiment strip was also mounted onto silver mirri and added to the bottom of this A6 card.

A different Christmas card

Been having a play with the new embossing powders from Sheena Douglass. I've used a stag and branch stamp from a Creative Expressions stamp plate.
The stag has been stamped with versamark onto black cardstock and embossed using the holographic powder, this gives a purple effect on black card. I then stamped the branch several times with Versamark and embossed with the fine white powder. The image has then been mattered onto white card and then blue mirror board. To finish the card I added a blue mirror board strip, punched snowflakes and greeting emboseed agani using the fine white powder.

I'm also entering this card into the Pear tree designs challenge where the theme is 'anything goes' and at Just inspirational challenges who have the theme this week of 'a stamped image'.

Lothian Crafts Monthly Challenge

This is my DT card for Lothian crafts monthly challenge. The challenge for October is 'Christmas', so it can be anything you like as long as it is christmas themed and with great candy to be won it's a great reason to get another christmas card made.

I decided to make an easel card shape and use the Skating Santa and Teddy from Joanna Sheen's Giordano Christmas stamp range.
I decided to have a go at braying for the main image: I roughly tore a peice of paper in half at a curve and masked off the top half of my piece of glossy card. I used the blue half of the Waterfall Big N Juicy ink pad to create the lake, which was alos sprayed with Spray and Sparkle. This was then masked off using the other half of the paper i tore and I used the greener end of the Big N Juicy to create the look of grass and then sky. As I used glossy card I stamped the trees in Stazon ink and also the Santa and Teddy. I then stamped the Santa and Teddy again onto some white card and coloured them in with ProMarkers, these were then cut out and layed over the stamped image. This means that you still have the effect of the full stamped image without having to figure out how to cut out some of the fiddly lines.

The image was matted and layered onto co-ordinating paper and mirror board and then onto some white card that I'd inked with the same Big N Juicy ink pad. The border and base paper are from the Crafters Companion CD Adorables. I added a greeting and an extra stamped teddy image, which has been layed onto a mirror board scolloped circle.

Why don't you pop over to Lothian crafts and have a go at this months challenge.
